1st June 2010 - Chernobyl Cycle TASTER!!
"The Chernobyl Cycle Taster" is a new feature for this years event. If you could not manage, for whatever reason, to sign up for the Cork to Galway cycle but would like to play some part in it all and share in the atmosphere of the ride to Cork City and on to Mallow the "Chernobyl Cycle Taster" could be the answer for you. For a fee of 40euro payable on the day you will receive an official, high quality, cycle jersey (while stocks last) and may join us on the road as far as Mallow. You are welcome to avail of the facilities at the pit stop in Mallow and then head back to Cork when the main group moves on towards Galway. Important Note: There will be no support cover for your ride back to Cork. This offer is available to everybody. Cyclists can bring their friends or family along to share in the trip as far as Mallow and sure maybe next year they'll go all the way. Just turn up on the morning of Friday 18th between 8.30am and 9.30am with your 40euro and join the fun.All cyclists must be 18 yrs of age or over

Hi Folks, I've just returned from Belarus after a two-week building project with the CCPI in an Adult Mental institution in the town of Soltonovka. With a team of 24 volunteers from Ireland we completed the full renovation of the High Dependency accommodation block of the complex. The total cost for this project is approx. 300,000 and will be paid for in full by the proceeds from the Cork to Galway Cycling event. "This is where your money is going to". Many thanks for your support. Check out pictures of the project on our FACEBOOK page (to be uploaded soon). Regards,Niall.

Congratulations to Jim O'Mahony from EMC on winning a corporate "motivation award" from EMC for his part in organising the Cycle '09 down in EMC, Ballincollig. Jim had participated as a cyclist for a few years and then volunteered to recruit a cycling group from EMC. Last year he recruited 20 colleagues to cycle to Galway and he's looking to improve on that this year. Good luck with that Jim !! His prize for the award is a donation of $5,000 to a charity of his choice. Guess which charity he chose! Nice one Jim!

More photos of Cycle '09 have been added to our Facebook page. We tried loading them on this site but it just slowed things down too much. Regards, Niall.
